About Me
I am the Academic Coordinator and a Core Faculty member in Communication in the College of Undergraduate Studies (CUGS) at Walden University. In the past I have taught public relations and organizational communication as well as writing for the media and the basic communication course at Ashland University. At Walden I teach mainly the undergraduate core class in communication, but also teach public speaking, interpersonal, mass communication and intercultural communication. However, as the Academic Coordinator, I mostly coordinate the 20 faculty in the Communication Division of CUGS. My passion is teaching people about branding and using social media to brand themselves and their organizations/clients.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking. I collect cookbooks and like to experiment with international cuisine. I have become passionate about real food--organic, local, sustainable. A Saturday morning at the farmer's market is a beautiful thing. A Saturday afternoon at a local winery is even better. I also enjoy canoeing and other forms of recreational boating and leisurely hiking and wildlife viewing. If I can't enjoy the outdoors, you will find me inside reading or watching cooking competition shows.
Recently I have been enjoying photography. All the pics on this site are mine. Yes, I even took the self photo to the left. Hooray for the iphone 4s and camera flip capabilities! The banner shots on many pages are part of a collection I call "textures." I would say my best stuff was taken on a trip to Oregon in the Summer of 2011. I was really inspired there.
I am married and enjoy spending time with my husband Mark and our cat, Trout. Below you will find my Curriculum Vitae.
